British counter-terrorism police have arrested a 22-year-old British national in Westminster, London, on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts, the BBC reported October 6.

The arrest is connected to an incident near RAF Fairford airbase in Gloucestershire last month. It is the seventh arrest in the investigation; six other suspects have been released on bail as inquiries continue.

RAF Fairford, a Royal Air Force station that also hosts United States Air Force operations, has been the focus of the probe for weeks. Police have not publicly detailed the nature of last month’s incident.

The Metropolitan Police’s counter-terrorism command is leading the investigation. British authorities typically say little about live terror investigations, and no charges have been announced in connection with the latest arrest.
