The Los Angeles Dodgers are one win from the NLCS after a 3-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves in Game 3 of the National League Division Series on Tuesday, taking a 2-1 series lead.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto was electric, striking out 10 over a gem of an outing, while the Dodgers’ bats did their damage against Braves ace Chris Sale — two home runs off the veteran lefty. Kiké Hernández delivered another October star turn to power the offence.

The Braves now face elimination, with their season hanging on a must-win Game 4. Atlanta’s offence, so potent in the regular season, has been stifled by Dodgers pitching when it has mattered most.

Meanwhile, the San Diego Padres refused to go quietly, staving off elimination against the Milwaukee Brewers to force a Game 4 back at Petco Park — setting up a winner-take-all atmosphere in San Diego.
