Free-agent wide receiver Tyreek Hill is on the verge of returning to the NFL. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday that he had begun negotiating with multiple teams interested in signing the 32-year-old, and said he expected a deal could come together within days.
The Kansas City Chiefs are among the teams in contact with Hill. The unbeaten Chiefs (4-0) lost two wide receivers to injury in Sunday's win over the Raiders in Las Vegas — Tyquan Thornton left on a cart with a dislocated ankle after his first career two-touchdown game, and Rashee Rice exited with a hamstring injury — leaving Patrick Mahomes short of targets.
Hill's potential homecoming would be a full-circle story. Kansas City drafted him in 2016, and he spent six seasons there — earning five first-team All-Pro nods — before a 2022 trade to Miami. The Dolphins released him in February after he played just four games in 2025, ending the season with a dislocated knee and torn ACL suffered in September of that year.
Hill has been dropping hints for weeks. Last week he posted a workout clip on Instagram showing him cutting on a beach with no apparent issues from the injury 13 months ago, and teased "I'm ready for some cold weather" on X — with reports linking him to the Chiefs, Giants and Ravens, all contenders. Rosenhaus said Hill intends to play only for a contender.
