San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk exited in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 24-14 win over the Denver Broncos at Levi's Stadium after taking a hit from Broncos rookie cornerback Jahdae Barron that hyperextended his right knee.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said after the game that Juszczyk's ACL and other ligaments "appeared to be intact," characterizing the initial diagnosis as a knee sprain. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday that initial tests showed a knee hyperextension and that the nine-time Pro Bowler "could miss 'a couple of weeks'" while an MRI confirms the diagnosis.

Juszczyk had two catches for 28 yards Sunday and has four receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown through the season's first four weeks. The 49ers return to action Oct. 11 at Seattle.

The injury is the latest to test San Francisco's depth, though the team avoided the worst-case scenario with the ACL showing no tear on initial examination.
