Robert Kelker-Kelly, the daytime television actor best known for stepping into the role of Bo Brady on "Days of Our Lives," has died at age 62. The news broke Monday when a Missouri medical examiner told TMZ the actor died on Oct. 3; no cause of death has been announced.
Kelker-Kelly's soap career began in 1987 when he originated the role of Sam Fowler on "Another World." In 1992 he took on his most famous part, replacing Peter Reckell as Bo Brady on "Days of Our Lives." Across three years on the show he starred opposite Kristian Alfonso's Hope and Lisa Rinna's Billie Reed, winning the 1994 Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Lead Actor and the 1995 Hottest Couple award with Rinna before Reckell returned to the role in 1995.
He later resurfaced as Stavros Cassadine on "General Hospital" in 2001, reprising the role in 2002, 2003, and again for the show's 50th anniversary in 2013 and 2014. He returned to "Another World" in 1996 as a different character, Dr. Shane Roberts, remaining until 1998.
In his later years, Kelker-Kelly largely stepped away from acting and became a professional pilot, earning airframe and powerplant certifications. His career made headlines again earlier in 2026 after Rinna's memoir described a difficult working relationship between the two on the "Days" set — claims he never publicly answered.
