The Kansas City Current left no doubt on Friday, beating the Houston Dash 4-0 to clinch the National Women's Soccer League's No. 1 playoff seed, a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the post-season.

The Current have been the league's standard all season, and Friday's rout pushed their record points total even higher with the playoffs still to come.

The result also reshuffled the consolation race: Houston's heavy defeat dropped the Dash on goal differential, a swing that lifted Racing Louisville's playoff position without Louisville kicking a ball.

Kansas City now gets a week's rest while the rest of the bracket fights through the opening round — an enviable position for a club that has turned its purpose-built stadium into one of the toughest road trips in women's soccer.
