Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin, Florida, around 9:30 p.m. ET Friday as a Category 2 storm with 105 mph winds, after peaking as a Category 3 earlier in the day. By Saturday morning the National Hurricane Center had discontinued hurricane warnings and declared the system post-tropical — but the danger is far from over.

More than 760,000 customers were without power across Florida, Alabama and Georgia on Saturday morning, according to wire reports. Flooded roads in parts of Alabama were closed by water and debris, and forecasters warned that flash flooding and tornadoes would continue to threaten the Southeast through Saturday.

The aftermath now shifts to recovery: utilities racing to restore power, emergency crews clearing blocked roads, and residents returning to assess damage. Officials urged people in affected areas to stay off flooded roads and heed local evacuation guidance until the water recedes.
