Halle Berry is fighting back in court. The actress filed a lengthy response on Oct. 5 to ex-husband Olivier Martinez's bid to change their custody arrangement from joint legal and physical custody to temporary sole custody, with Berry limited to visitation.

Berry flatly denied Martinez's allegation that she put their 13-year-old son Maceo in a headlock during VR play. She described it as playful roughhousing over turning the game off, said she never put her hands on his neck, and submitted timestamped video and stills of Maceo in his VR goggles as evidence.

Going further, Berry now says she is herself a domestic violence victim and advocate — not a perpetrator — calling Martinez's allegations 'bullshit.' Her daughter Nahla Aubry submitted a declaration supporting Berry, saying she never heard racially charged comments from her mother and calling Martinez's claims inconsistent with the mom she knows.

After the filing, the judge amended Martinez's temporary restraining order and confirmed that Berry retains final decision-making authority over Maceo's mental health and education. The custody battle, like the marriage, shows no sign of a quiet ending.
