Daniel Romano has a new band and a new tour. The prolific songwriter announced last week that his new folk project Briar — Romano with Carson McHone, Tommy Major and Fliss Horrocks — will release its debut album ‘Aeterna Memoria’ on October 30 via You've Changed Records, and the group has now revealed its first headlining tour.
Briar will play 12 Canadian dates this November, opening with four Ontario shows: Hamilton (Nov. 3), Toronto (Nov. 4) at The Monarch, Sudbury (Nov. 5) and Burnstown (Nov. 6). The band then heads east for Fredericton (Nov. 9), Halifax (Nov. 11), Sackville (Nov. 12) and Moncton (Nov. 14), before closing with Ottawa (Nov. 16), Kingston (Nov. 17) and St. Catharines (Nov. 18).
Eliza Niemi joins on all dates, and tickets are on sale now. The tour announcement, reported by Exclaim!, gives fans their first chance to hear the new project live just days after the album lands.
