TORONTO — Police are investigating two separate stabbings in the city's Moss Park neighbourhood that left two people seriously injured early Wednesday morning. The first incident was reported shortly after 1 a.m. near Sherbourne Street and Shuter Street, where officers responding to reports of an altercation in a park found a man in his 20s suffering from a stab wound.

The man was taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators said three male suspects remain outstanding, and no suspect descriptions have been released.

Just over three hours later, at about 4:08 a.m., police were called to a second stabbing near Queen Street East and Sherbourne Street, outside a residential building. Officers found a woman in her 40s with a stab wound, and she was also taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. No suspect description has been provided in that case either.

Police said it was not immediately clear whether the two incidents are connected. Both scenes sit within a few blocks of each other in Moss Park, a downtown neighbourhood that has seen repeated police calls around its parks and residential buildings, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Toronto police.
