VANCOUVER — A Vancouver genomics company is changing hands as the market for personal health testing consolidates. Mapmygenome announced on October 21 that it has completed its acquisition of Vancouver-based dnaPower Inc., a pioneer in personal genomics, expanding its North American operations in DNA testing, gut microbiome health, longevity and precision health.
The company said uniting dnaPower with its global scale and CAP-accredited clinical laboratory capabilities — including Vancouver-based Microbiome Insights, which it acquired in 2025 — creates a centralized platform for DNA, microbiome, pharmacogenetic and longevity testing aimed at proactive, preventive healthcare across Canada and the United States.
"Acquiring dnaPower is a pivotal step in scaling our North American operations," said Anu Acharya, founder and CEO of Mapmygenome. "Pairing dnaPower's commercial trajectory with our CAP-accredited clinical laboratories and AI capabilities positions us to define the next frontier in microbiome, longevity, and precision health testing."
The deal keeps a Vancouver footprint at the centre of the combined business even as ownership moves to a global player. Financial terms were not disclosed in the announcement, and the companies did not detail any changes for existing dnaPower customers, whose test results and accounts are expected to carry over to the combined platform.
