LOS ANGELES — One of American music's most durable live performers takes a Hollywood stage on Wednesday night. Bonnie Raitt plays the Pantages Theatre at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard on October 21 at 7:30 p.m., a headline Los Angeles date on her fall tour, according to the city's official visitor listings.

Raitt's career arc is part of the draw: after 20 years as a cult favourite, she broke through at the top in the early 1990s with the Grammy-winning albums 'Nick of Time' and 'Luck of the Draw,' featuring 'Something to Talk About' and 'I Can't Make You Love Me.' She has won 13 Grammy Awards in all and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.

Her independent 2012 release 'Slipstream' sold more than a quarter-million copies and earned her 10th Grammy, for Best Americana Album, and her 20th album, 'Dig In Deep,' followed in 2016. Rolling Stone has named the slide-guitar player among both the 250 greatest guitarists and the 100 greatest singers of all time.

Raitt is as known for her activism as her music — she was a founding member of Musicians United for Safe Energy and has performed benefit concerts around environmental and social causes since the 1970s. Wednesday's Pantages show puts that full catalogue, five decades deep, into one of Hollywood's classic theatre rooms.
