Indian startup Scimplify has raised $25 million to expand its AI-powered approach to producing specialty chemicals and critical materials, as manufacturers work to reduce reliance on Chinese suppliers, TechCrunch reported on Wednesday.

The all-equity strategic round was led by Hitachi Ventures, with customers Henkel and Teknor Apex joining as new investors, alongside existing backers Accel India, Bertelsmann India Investments, Omnivore and 3one4 Capital. The round reportedly values the Bengaluru-based company at about $250 million, up from $150 million after its $40 million Series B in March 2025, and takes its total equity funding to $80 million.

Founded in 2023, Scimplify uses AI and a network of partner facilities to move from a customer's requirements to a finished material far faster than traditional timelines. Co-founder Sachin Santhosh said the company has in some cases delivered in about two months, compared with the 12 to 18 months such work typically takes.

TechCrunch also reported the company's annualized revenue run rate has tripled to about $200 million as it eyes a bigger push into the United States, with semiconductors, defence and energy emerging as key growth markets.
