The Edmonton Oilers' unbeaten-in-regulation start is over. Clayton Keller scored twice as the Utah Mammoth won 4-2 at Rogers Place on Thursday night.
Logan Cooley added a goal and an assist and Nick Schmaltz had two assists for Utah (6-2-0), who have now won three straight. Karel Vejmelka made 22 saves. Barrett Hayton opened the scoring on a first-period power play.
Leon Draisaitl and Shakir Mukhamadullin scored for Edmonton (5-1-1), whose five-game winning run ended. Devon Levi made 20 saves for the Oilers.
The teams meet again on Saturday, when Utah hosts Edmonton. Oilers coach Mike Babcock said his team competed but was not deep enough on the night with players still returning.
