The American League Championship Series moved to Cleveland on Thursday, with the Guardians hosting the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 3 at Progressive Field and the best-of-seven series tied at one game apiece. First pitch was moved to 1:00 p.m. ET because of a threat of severe weather in Cleveland.
Cleveland struck first in the early innings, leading 1-0 in the top of the third after scoring in the second, in a game still in progress at publication time. Tampa Bay had evened the series on October 13 with a 3-1 win in Game 2, after the Guardians took Game 1 by 7-3 in St. Petersburg.
The winner of Game 3 takes a pivotal edge with the next two games also scheduled in Cleveland, while the Rays look to reclaim home-field advantage before the series returns to Florida if necessary.
Thursday's wider sports slate also includes an 11-game NHL schedule, highlighted by Buffalo visiting Toronto at 7:00 p.m. ET, and NBA preseason action with the Toronto Raptors at the New York Knicks.
