Goldenvoice's one-time electronic dance festival Head Trip 2026 never made it to its headliner on opening night. Around 9:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, organizers cut off the Under Construction set - Fisher back-to-back with Chris Lake - to broadcast a lightning-alert warning, and within about half an hour the festival app told attendees the night would not resume, urging everyone to exit safely. Campers were instructed to shelter in their vehicles.
The shutdown wiped out the night-one headlining set from Calvin Harris, who had been due on stage at 9:30 p.m. PT. It was the second weather intervention of the day: organizers had already delayed Saturday's start and shuffled the schedule as Tropical Storm Rachel moved through Southern California. Roughly 70,000 attendees were expected across the two-day event on the Coachella grounds in Indio.
Day two is scheduled for Sunday with DJ Harvey, The Blessed Madonna, Dom Dolla b2b Kettama, Skrillex and Swedish House Mafia on the bill, though organizers had not confirmed the day-two status as rain was forecast through Sunday morning. The number of attendees evacuated on Saturday night had not been confirmed.
