FKA twigs has dismissed her lawsuit against ex-partner Shia LaBeouf after he agreed that the non-disclosure agreement in their 2025 settlement is terminated and void, according to court filings reported this week. The move frees the singer to publicly discuss her allegations of sexual assault and abuse - and to advocate for survivors - without fear of reprisal.

Her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, called the outcome an important victory for the principle that people who speak out about abuse should not be silenced by NDAs. LaBeouf's lawyer, Shawn Holley, said her client wishes twigs nothing but the best.

The original lawsuit, filed in 2020, accused LaBeouf of sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress during their relationship. The pair reached a settlement last year, but the NDA attached to it became a second legal battle when twigs sought the right to speak freely about her experience.

The resolution lands amid a broader reckoning over the use of NDAs in abuse cases, with lawmakers in several states moving to limit their enforceability. For twigs, who has become an outspoken advocate for survivors, the legal cloud over her voice has finally lifted.
