Inference-chip startup Etched is fielding investment offers at $40–$50 billion valuations, roughly double the $21 billion mark set in September when Jane Street led a $700 million round, according to reports Tuesday.

The company says it has secured $1 billion in customer orders, and Jane Street is both an investor and an early customer taking delivery of systems. The reported bids come only two months after a $300 million Sequoia-led round at a $10.3 billion valuation — a stunning pace of value appreciation even by AI infrastructure standards.

The report did not name who is leading the current bids or whether they are for primary or secondary shares, leaving open how the valuation surge will translate into actual capital raised.
