Teyana Taylor is not leaving her awards season to anyone else. The performer is personally driving the campaign for her supporting role in Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another, telling The Hollywood Reporter she can 'bet on myself.'

Taylor plays Perfidia Beverly Hills, a French 75 revolutionary who leaves her daughter — played by Chase Infinni — in the care of Leonardo DiCaprio's paranoid ex-revolutionary. Variety's October 15 awards analysis listed her among the supporting actress contenders and called the performance a vehicle for her next act.

The campaign got an unexpected boost this week when her turn as a Ghostface killer in Scary Movie — a clip of co-star Marlon Wayans calling her character the 'sexiest Ghostface' went viral — put her in front of an entirely different audience at the same moment.

Deadline has framed the campaign as a straight contest between Taylor's self-run push and Ariana Grande's studio-backed effort. Whether voters reward the strategy will not be known until nominations, but the visibility strategy is already working on its own terms.
