Production on The Batman: Part II has found its way forward. Director Matt Reeves stepped away earlier this month because of a family matter, leaving the sequel temporarily paused.
Entertainment coverage on October 16 reported that Steven Soderbergh will step in to complete the production. No details of Reeves's situation have been made public, and the coverage itself noted the family deserves privacy.
Soderbergh is one of the few directors with the speed and range to inherit a production of this scale mid-stream, with a career that moves between studio franchises and small independent features.
The change keeps one of Warner Bros.' most closely watched sequels on track while Reeves deals with matters away from the set.
