Mattel has announced a Barbie Signature doll honouring Celine Dion, the Canadian singer whose performance of the Titanic theme became one of pop culture's defining moments.

The doll recreates Dion's 1998 Academy Awards look, with a navy turtleneck dress and a replica Heart of the Ocean necklace — a nod to My Heart Will Go On and the film it soundtracked.

Priced at $60, the doll is available for pre-order, with shipping expected by December 31. Signature-series dolls are aimed at collectors as much as children, and past music honourees have sold out quickly.

Dion, 58, was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome in 2022 and has returned to performing selectively since, making the tribute a timely celebration of a career that has sold hundreds of millions of records worldwide.
