The Milwaukee Brewers are two wins from the World Series. William Contreras hit a tying home run in the fifth inning and singled home the go-ahead run in the sixth, leading Milwaukee to a 7-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series at American Family Field.

Contreras finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and four Brewers relievers combined to retire the last 15 Dodgers batters in order. Milwaukee outhit Los Angeles 12 to 3 in a game that saw four lead changes before the Brewers scored four unanswered runs late.

The Dodgers led on three separate occasions in the first five innings, but their lineup managed just three hits and went 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position. Starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto lasted only 2 2/3 innings, his shortest postseason start, after entering the night 8-1 with a 2.14 ERA in his playoff career.

Christian Yelich's two-run single in the third and RBI singles from Brice Turang and Jake Bauers in the eighth rounded out Milwaukee's scoring. The Brewers are chasing their second pennant and first since joining the National League; their only previous World Series appearance came in 1982.

The best-of-seven series shifts to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Wednesday, with the two-time defending champion Dodgers needing a rapid turnaround to avoid falling into a 3-0 hole.
