The BBC News channel launched live on YouTube in the United Kingdom and the United States starting October 15, extending a trial already running in several other markets.

The London-based broadcaster said the stream carries its domestic and international coverage, including politics, business, technology and breaking news, and is aimed at audiences who increasingly watch news on platforms rather than scheduled television.

BBC News executive Anjali Kapoor described the launch as a step toward making the corporation's journalism available where people already spend their time during the day.

The BBC joins other British news outlets already streaming live on the platform. In the UK the channel remains available on iPlayer and the BBC website and app, while US viewers can also find it on cable and connected-TV services.
