TMX Group reported a sharp rebound in listing activity on Friday, announcing that the Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 28 new issuers in September 2026 - double the 14 added in August and nearly matching the 29 from September of last year.
The new TSX listings were dominated by exchange traded funds, with 27 ETFs and one mining company joining the board. Total financings raised in September fell 36 per cent from the previous month but surged 263 per cent compared with September 2025. The exchange recorded 53 financings during the month, up from 29 in August.
The junior TSX Venture Exchange also picked up steam, adding five new issuers - three mining companies, one financial services firm and one life sciences company. Total financings raised on the Venture exchange rose 69 per cent month-over-month and 60 per cent year-over-year, with 88 financings completed.
The figures point to renewed appetite for Canadian equity financing heading into the final quarter of 2026, even as the broader economy contends with trade tensions and a softening labour market.
