Toronto police have made an arrest in the case of seven delivery trucks belonging to the food charity Second Harvest that were vandalized over the Thanksgiving weekend, CP24 reported. The trucks had their catalytic converters stolen, taking vehicles the charity relies on for food deliveries out of service.
Police say an Oakville man has been charged in connection with the vandalism and theft. Investigators are still searching for a second suspect and a suspect vehicle, and the investigation remains active.
Second Harvest is one of Canada's largest food-rescue organizations, collecting surplus food and redistributing it to community agencies across the Toronto area. The charity said after the vandalism that the loss of the trucks disrupted its delivery capacity during one of the busiest periods of the year.
Police are asking anyone with information about the second suspect or the suspect vehicle to contact investigators.
