Dakota Johnson hosted Saturday Night Live on Oct. 3 — her third time headlining the show — with musical guest Turnstile. Her opening monologue centred on her two recent high-profile breakups, with Chris Martin and Role Model, and her new film Verity.

Mid-monologue, Johnson introduced "my literal therapist" — and Taylor Swift walked onto the stage, immediately correcting her: "I’m not your therapist, actually. You just show up once a week at my house with an empty bottle of wine and ask if I want some."

The bit closed with Swift saying she sends Johnson home with a Pedialyte and a ride from her security detail, while Johnson joked that her habit of dating musicians saves women money on Zoloft.

The monologue nodded at Swift’s husband Travis Kelce when Johnson listed romantic misadventures in "England and parts of Ireland and Cleveland" — Swift responded "Woo-woo!" Swift returned during the goodnights with a blue-and-white birthday cake for Johnson. Swift last appeared on SNL in October 2023, when she introduced Ice Spice, and hosted the show herself back in 2009.
