Raye has broken her silence on the ticketing chaos around her one-off London concert, 'This Symphony May Contain Hope', at the Royal Albert Hall on October 23.
The show, a full symphonic reimagining of her second album with her band, the Heritage Orchestra and the Flames Collective choir, has just 5,000 seats. Sign-ups drew 1.8 million registrations, which Raye and her team say were swollen by scalpers using AI bots to generate hundreds of thousands of fake entries.
Rather than risk a presale that scalpers could exploit, the team will manually review the sign-up list to build a shortlist of people they believe are real fans, ahead of the scheduled general sale.
Raye said it is important to her that fans can buy tickets at face value. General sale had been scheduled for Thursday, October 15, following the sign-up period.
