The Golden State Warriors beat the Los Angeles Lakers 101-89 in an NBA preseason game at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Tuesday, October 13, outscoring Los Angeles 51-26 after halftime.

The teams were tied 29-29 after the first quarter before the Lakers surged ahead 63-50 at the break on a 34-21 second quarter. The game flipped completely after halftime: Golden State won the third quarter 22-13 and the fourth 29-13 as the Lakers' offence stalled.

The result continues a preseason in which both Pacific Division clubs have been testing rotations and minutes ahead of the regular season, with the Warriors' second-half defence the story of the night in the desert.

Sacramento also fell at home on Tuesday, losing 110-98 to the Portland Trail Blazers in another West Coast preseason matchup.
