Six Flags is facing scrutiny over a programming decision at its Halloween Fright Fest, days after a fatal incident at Six Flags Over Georgia.
A company spokesperson told TMZ on Thursday, October 15 that Six Flags Magic Mountain will operate its Fright Fest programming as scheduled, including its Final Destination-themed maze. The company said the maze does not contain scenes related to a theme park.
The fatal incident happened on Monday, October 12, when a 42-year-old man died after falling from the Goliath coaster at the Georgia park, and several other guests were injured. Cobb County's Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
Reaction online was sharply critical, with commenters calling the decision distasteful so soon after a death. The park has expressed condolences to the guest's family, friends and loved ones.
