Paul McCartney has notes for the Beatles movies. Appearing on the Good Hang podcast with Amy Poehler on Tuesday, the 84-year-old shared the one historical inaccuracy he cannot get past in Apple's forthcoming four Beatles biopic films, revealing he has texted director Sam Mendes about it: 'Don't do this!'
The exchange began when Poehler asked McCartney a deceptively simple question: which of the four Beatles, John Lennon, George Harrison, Ringo Starr or McCartney himself, was the tallest?
The four-film project, one movie told from each band member's perspective, is among the most anticipated music releases on Apple's slate, and McCartney's involvement in the details has been part of its story from the start.
Fans will have to wait for the films to learn whether Mendes took the note. McCartney, characteristically, delivered his correction with a laugh, but he made the call and sent the texts anyway.
