Davido is making his Grammy case early and in volume. The Nigerian star has submitted multiple entries for the 2027 Grammy Awards, led by his album Oriade, which has been entered for Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical) and Best Album Cover.

His song entries include a collaboration featuring Mayorkun and FOLA entered for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance, alongside other collaborations put forward for Best African Music Performance and Best Music Video.

Submissions are only the first step. First-round Grammy voting runs October 12 to 22, and the nominations for the 69th awards are expected on November 16, ahead of the ceremony on February 7, 2027.

Davido has been here before: he was nominated at the 66th Grammys in 2024 off the success of Timeless and its singles. A multi-category entry for Oriade signals that his team sees this album cycle, not just one song, as the one to convert Afrobeats' global momentum into Grammy hardware.
