Chappell Roan is putting new money behind the communities she came from. The singer has launched The Chappell Roan Fund II, a charitable fund dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ youth across the Midwest, People reported on Tuesday evening.
The fund's initial work will focus on Missouri, Kansas and Iowa. Its first round of grants will go to organizations providing suicide-prevention services, housing support and affirming health care, alongside community centres that offer safe spaces for young people.
Roan, who grew up in Missouri, has made LGBTQ+ advocacy a recurring part of her public platform as her profile has risen, frequently using interviews and appearances to draw attention to the pressures facing queer youth in conservative states.
The launch adds a formal philanthropic structure to that advocacy, channelling resources to front-line groups in the region rather than national organizations alone. For the Midwest groups named as early priorities, the fund's focus on housing and health care targets two of the gaps advocates say are hardest for young people to bridge.
