VANCOUVER — Wednesday is day 30 of the 2026 British Columbia provincial election, and the last call for early ballots: advance voting places across the province are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time, three days before general voting day.
The three leaders — NDP Leader David Eby, Green Leader Emily Lowan and interim Conservative Leader Lorne Doerkson — met Wednesday night in Vancouver for the campaign's only televised debate, the set-piece moment of a long campaign month.
The final stretch has not been short of friction. The B.C. Conservatives filed a complaint with Elections BC on Tuesday over a letter the NDP mailed to voters; the letter is signed by Dr. Habib Ur-Rehman, a family physician on the North Shore who moved to B.C. from England in early 2025, and Eby defended it as a promotional message from a doctor who believes the NDP is best for health care.
With advance voting closing Wednesday night, the remaining campaign days are about turnout: parties will spend them moving identified supporters to Saturday's ballot boxes in what has been, by common consent, an unusually long and closely watched provincial race.
