A murder investigation is under way in London after a 35-year-old man was shot dead at a pub in Enfield on Monday night.

The Metropolitan Police have published an appeal for help and released a CCTV image of someone linked to the shooting, who officers say could be wearing a disguise. A wide police cordon remained around the pub as detectives worked the scene.

Enfield, in north London, is the latest part of the capital to be drawn into a firearms investigation this autumn, and appeals of this kind typically focus on doorbell and dashcam footage from the streets around the venue in the minutes before and after the shots.

Police have not announced an arrest in the first appeal. Anyone with information is usually directed to the Met or to Crimestoppers, which allows tips to be given anonymously — the route detectives emphasise when a suspect may have changed their appearance.
