One person is dead after a shooting in Flamborough, the rural Hamilton community northwest of Toronto, police said on Wednesday night.
Reports from The Hamilton Spectator, CTV News, CHCH and CityNews Toronto, carried by CP24, said a male was found dead after the shooting. Hamilton police are investigating.
Flamborough sits at the top of Hamilton, bordering Halton and the western GTA, which is why a shooting there draws a regional police and media response across the Toronto area as well as Hamilton itself.
Police had released few further details in the first reports on Wednesday night, including any information about suspects or a motive. As with any fatal shooting investigation, officers typically secure the scene, canvass for witnesses and surveillance video, and ask anyone with information to contact the service directly.
