Oura is leaning further into heart health. The smart ring maker is introducing two new cardiovascular-focused health tracking features designed to help users better understand the state of their heart health, according to The Verge.
The additions arrive alongside new fitness metrics the company rolled out this week that show how workouts impact the body — part of a broader push by ring and watch makers to move from raw activity counts toward longer-term health signals that users can act on.
Cardiovascular measures have become the battleground for premium wearables, as makers compete on everything from heart-rate variability and resting heart rate trends to recovery scores. Oura's rings, worn on the finger rather than the wrist, have built their following on sleep and readiness tracking, and the new features extend that pitch to heart health.
The updates land in a crowded field: rivals including Samsung, with its Galaxy Ring, and a wave of lower-cost ring makers are all chasing the same finger. For Oura, deeper cardiovascular insight is another argument for keeping its subscription-based ring on users' hands.
