The San Francisco 49ers are cruising on Monday Night Football, leading the Washington Commanders 20–3 at halftime at Levi's Stadium behind another sharp performance from quarterback Brock Purdy.

San Francisco scored 13 points in the first quarter and seven more in the second. Christian McCaffrey ran in a one-yard touchdown after Purdy scrambled on fourth-and-seven to keep the drive alive, though Eddy Piñeiro missed the extra point. Mike Evans added a 54-yard catch as the 49ers' offence moved the ball at will.

The night turned grim for Washington when star receiver Terry McLaurin was carted off with an apparent left knee injury in the first half and promptly ruled out. The Commanders' only points came from a 51-yard field goal.

Washington arrived at 1-3-1 with pressure building on head coach Dan Quinn after last week's 27–27 overtime tie with the Giants. San Francisco, 5–0 and one of three remaining unbeaten teams, is playing like it — Purdy entered the night with 1,196 yards, 13 touchdowns and two interceptions through five games.
