BROSSARD, Que. — A Canadian health technology company is scaling AI-assisted eye screening across the country. DIAGNOS Inc. announced on October 20 that its CARA system — software that uses artificial intelligence to analyze retinal images for early signs of eye disease — has completed its first nationwide deployment phase in Canada.

Following Health Canada's medical device marketing authorization for the platform, the company says it set up 28 stores in two weeks, bringing the network to more than 60 optometrists now using CARA in their clinics.

Participating clinics report positive early feedback, pointing to the system's interface, the precision of its AI-assisted retinal image analysis and its processing speed, along with faster assessments for patients. Early detection matters in eye care because conditions such as diabetic retinopathy can progress silently before symptoms appear.

"The feedback we are receiving from optometrists and clinic staff validates our core mission: delivering a technology that not only meets regulatory standards but supports clinicians in providing better, faster care," said Andre Larente, the company's president and chief executive, adding that the rollout will continue across all Canadian provinces.
