Thursday brings one of the heaviest earnings days of the season, and it is the calendar — not any single stock — that tops the stocks-to-watch list for the next 24 hours. Procter & Gamble, Lockheed Martin, Nokia, American Airlines, Spotify, Comcast, Nasdaq, Honeywell, Western Digital and Bloom Energy are all scheduled to report on October 22, according to earnings calendars compiled by TipRanks.
The slate follows a Wednesday headlined by Tesla and Meta's results, which set the tone for how investors are treating big AI and consumer spending this quarter. Thursday's reports span consumer staples, defence, streaming, telecom and semiconductors, giving the market a broad read on both household demand and industrial orders. Selective Insurance Group is also due to post third-quarter results after Thursday's close, with analysts expecting earnings of $1.91 per share on revenue of about $1.17 billion.
On the insider side, the disclosures investors track most closely remain ownership levels rather than single trades. Simply Wall St's latest screen of U.S. growth companies with high insider ownership puts Himax Technologies at the top for insider alignment at 29.1 per cent of shares held by insiders, followed by Nu Holdings at 23.1 per cent, Figure Technology Solutions at 21.4 per cent and Standard Nuclear at 18.8 per cent. High insider ownership is generally read as management's money sitting alongside shareholders' — a disclosure fact, not a recommendation.
Analyst comparisons are also circulating ahead of the prints: a widely read Motley Fool comparison this week weighed Arista Networks against CrowdStrike, noting CrowdStrike's best quarter in company history on AI security demand and its expectation that annualised revenue could approach $10 billion by 2030, while Arista faces growing networking competition from Nvidia.
Friday then closes the week with American Express and Schlumberger. As always with earnings season, the guidance matters more than the quarter just ended — and Thursday's breadth means there will be plenty of it to parse. This roundup reports disclosed results, calendars and filings only; it is market news, not investment advice.
